I'm going to take a wid guess and say that you weren't using RO..Or just started using RO...If I'm wrong....Time to break out the toothbrush and do a 50% water change as long as you have enough good biological...Brown algae on corals might mean you don't have enough flow(powerheads in your tank)...Oh yeah don't toothbrush corals just rock...

Okay you said the tank has been going for about 6 months...This is about that time you have the algae prob....But I need more info where is you phosphate at??Nitrate at???
How is your tank filtered???Are you using Bio balls???
You have to fix the prob so you can keep this nuisance algae away...This stuff is growing in your tank because of excess nutrients.....ie overfeeding without enough filtration,May need stronger protein skimmer....

Your salinity is low. It should be 1.025-1.026. What is your Phosphate level ? A few things can help you in the short term. Shorter photo (lighting) period or a day with NO light and then a shorter photo-period until it calms down. Take out the rock with the algae on it and clean off gently with a toothbrush and a turkey baster "WITH TANK WATER OUTSIDE OF THE TANK" and replace back in the tank.

Yes it is time consuming but you are having an algae bloom. Add more flow to your tank. Slow flow allows detritus to build on rock that will feed algae. After removing the algae from the problem areas, use the turkey baster to blow off the rest of your rocks. Cleaning them weekly will help eliminate some of your problem but you need a way to get rid of the dirt out of the system when you do it.

The protein skimmer will handle some of the detritus and waste but a filter bag will catch alot. Feeding less also helps. Flake food is the worst as it will raise your phosphate levels high because of uneaten food. Slow sinking pellets are great as you can limit the amout of food going into your system. Rinsing frozen food is also good if using mysis and such. If you don't have a good clean-up crew you should get some.

Sand stirrers, crabs, snails are all good at relieving your tank of some of the bad things in it giving you some breathing room. See if any of this helps and give us an update.

HTH,

Kasei

PS: Remove the rest of the bio-balls. They are a nitrate sink creating some of your problems.
