Hi eveyrone, I’m new here ☺️. I wanted to reach out to the reef community because I think my cycle is stalled… it’s my first tank, a 25 AIO peninsula connected through passive U bridge to a 10 gallon refugium. I used Reef mature pro from Red Sea, and I needed to stop it at Day 20 because due to miscalculation I overdosed the Coraline gro. Which gave me a KH of 14dkh. At Day 26, my paramèters are: Ph 8.1, Kh 10dkh, ammonia 4ppm, nitrites 2 or 3 ppm and nitrites went from 40 to 15ppm. I have put caulerpa and gracilaria in the refugium. The other big mistake I have done is to add phyto for few days (dummy me) and stopped it 1 and half week ago. Do you recommand a big water change like 30/40% or do you suggest me to just wait ? Oh and I have seen 1 amphipode haha. And diatom are blooming, the flow is good I think and I have 1 air stone in each tank.

Any recommandation will be trully appreciated :)

stop dosing u got enough to start up a cycle in my opinion, I wouldnt use a refugium just yet as its messing with your nutrients and you just want it to take its natural course. That being said, leave the tank dont do any water changes, any natural hair algae growth, diatom growth, etc is encouraged at this stage, and just let your tank rock until the ammonia reduces to near 0 levels. you will have DKH swings anyways because the process that converts ammonia NH3 to nitrite NO2 and nitrate NO3 is acidic, along with ammonia in water also being acidic. The coralline will naturally grow, especially if you get it on a frag plug in the future, in which case once you notice coralline patches keep a eye on your magnesium, as it soaks it up.

TLDR- dont do wc, stop dosing, and patience is key.
