Hi,
So, all of a sudden I've noticed an uprising of amphipods in my tank. I saw about 4 tiny ones this morning. What is bothersome is that I saw those 4 hanging out in my 'wall hammer coral' (instead of branching type coral).
The issue comes in that two days ago, the section they were sitting in had 'barely alive/trying to regrow' baby coral heads. NOW its empty, with a growth of 1 gray blob. It looks like a blob of gametes.

I know they aren't 'bad' for the tank, BUT I'd like to know what happened to the re-growing coral tentacles. I've seen the amphipods 'cleaning' my zoo's and 'chilling' out on LR but...eh, so...seeing as the tentacles were there, and now aren't ...
Innocent until proven guilty?

so even though the tentacles, looked okay and vibrant to me, this isn't a big issue? I was under the wrong impression towards the hammer's recovery?

If you are worried, put a wrasse in your tank, 6 line would work well, he will keep the pods number down. I have not seen them bother my stuff, I actually like them a lot, they look like little horses running around on my LR.

This is how many amphipods I threw in my ref last week.

If they were eating coral, I would have a big problem.
Yesterday we collected them almost by the pound.
