UV exposure

i amthinking about getting a MH pendant from RC but the UV glass does not completlet cover the fixture there is about half inch exposed on two sides, will UV rays be able to escape the small space and affect my corals?
pics the guy gave me.

would it be hard to find a peice of UV glass to fit?

Yes they absolutely will. A far smaller gap will cause great harm to your livestock and your eyes. Do not buy/use this fixture unless you replace the glass.

SE bulbs have built-in UV protection, while DE bulbs do not.

that looks like a stripped down current light hood.

In the hood there is a rubber gasket that wraps around the reflector and prevents any light from spilling out. I'm not sure there is any easy way to fit a new piece of glass to that and make it reef safe.
