hi guys i now have a small reef like about 5 soft corals. my tank is a 55 gallon . my specs are ph 8.4 nitrate 10ppm salinty 1.025 and cal 300, my question is ive been tryin to bump up my calcium level to 450 but it doesnt reach there. im usin kent marine liquid calcium now when first i was using b-ionic. ive been dumpin about 4 teaspoons every day at night in to the sump and when i check when i get home the reading goes up like 20 the most. right now i have a poly filter in my sump cuz i had some hair algea problem but my friend said i can still dump it in. pls guys help me . i want to raise my cal to 450 then maintain it there. what the hell am i doin wrong. i dont have no fish just the 5 corals and they are small.ohh i forgot to say my alk is 13

Your alk is definetly high.
Recommended parameters are 7-11 dKH.

I doubt Mg is your problem because your pH is in the upper area at 8.4. (I could be wrong)
However, you should always have your mg in check, just in case.

I suspect to much alkalinity dosage.
In the past, have you ever fiddled with the pH?

With the high alk, your Ca additions are probably all contributing to percipitation. Do you see a bunch of white flurries upon Ca addition?

A water change is the simplest and easiest solution.
