If you change the bulb you can...they only come with 5000k
add 4 bulbs you like and you're set...maybe see if they will
give you something off W/O bulbs...I'm sure they have one
with missing, busted, or bad...Worth a shot.

For the proper light distribution you would also need to put highly polished individual parabolic reflectors on each bulb. Which you can buy as well. Ice cap makes them I believe.

one of my lighting suppliers make these same fixtures......the reflectors are not individual and are more like 1 reflector bent to look like indivivual reflectors....the reflector material are mirror like and seems decent.....seems like its worth a shot....but its no icecap quality..

I know Aquactinics makes good fixtures but I'm on a small budget. I was thinking of getting the fixture from pro lighting, then replacing the stock reflectors with icecap reflectors like Chief advised, change the bulbs and add some fans. The total cost would be a lot cheaper than going with an Aquactinics fixture but I would like to know is if the light quality would be comparable? What I'm also wondering is what type of corals I would be able to keep with this fixture? Thanks in advance.

I would say this. If you contact the company and tell them what you plan on using the light for and ythat it will be in a high humidity location with saltwater evap and they say go ahead, well then you are cfovered. Keep in mind that light fixtures made for the marine trade even tho they are expensive, you have a leg to stand on if something goes wrong. Not so much if the intended use isn't the aquaria trade/hobby.

Thanks Chief. I emailed the company and I'm still waiting for a response. I was also thinking of making my own splash guard and legs if the fixture can be used in a high humidity location near saltwater evaporation.
