Whats a worst case senario if you only use tap? This probably the billionth time someone asking this but i can't find a thread.

*just make sure you bypass the DI when making drinking water.

I bought my RO/DI unit for $35 used, then bought new filters, membrane, upgraded GPH to 100 & once I showed my wife (& everyone who comes over) the prefilter, there are no arguments. I used to be an avid tap water drinker/tank topperoffer.

Then again, that green cap water label reads "made from RO"...it might me RO waste..

BTW, whats the best place to buy replacement RO parts? (filter, ETC)

There are a few vendors here that sell RO parts. I get mine from AquariumWaterFilters which is where my filter came from.

Edit: There was a nasty pic of a prefilter that has since been removed. Looked like it was dipped in mud after 10 months of use in Brooklyn. I showed it to my wife & she was sold!

How long would it take for these dangerous effects to happen? Aside from hair and slime algae, suppose you continue to use tap how long would it take the water to destroy my tank? Has anyone used tap water with ill effects? Just curious.

What is a good RO/DI unit to buy? I would want something that controls the water so I don't have to check it all the time and worry about it overflowing.
