i have a 90 gallon rr tank. i finished the plumbing and now its time for lights.

i am trying to decide on two setups. i am trying to keep lps and softies and maybe some anenomes.


this is a 6 bulb tek light which comes to $457 with the 6 bulbs.

this is my metal halide option..two 250 watts from aqua medic with electronic ballast for $409 with bulbs...

or buy a 2 175 watt metal halide retrofit/with blue el-ine ballast with 10k ushio bulbs from another reefer for very cheap.


i have power compacts to supliment the actinic lighting if needed.
my tank is in the basement and sometimes it runs warm.

i dont wanna have to make some more mistakes the "upgrade again"

Whats the brand , is it sunlight supply? Good.
Get 1 from MR local vendor....Dont forget u have to buy the bulbs....

T5s are awsome. I used to have sps and anemones under them.... From reading ,I think (MASTERSWIMMER, if I am not mistaken) used t5s succesfully with anemones and sps...

Yep, it was probably one of my threads. I've been using T5's for four years now. I've kept so many different animals under them I can't recall them all. None suffered because of lighting.
