14,000k ok for sps

just got 2 250watt 14,000k bulbs love the look had 10,000k before.just whatted to know with the 14,000k is it going to be ok with my sps,thanks jeremy

different 14k have different amount of blue to them, i actually liked the coralvue 14k i had in my 150 mh. reason you are wanting to switch from the 10k ? if you have that much antic supliment. i would stick with the 10k

I had the 14k and I didn't get much growth on my SPS but now i switched to 10k and my SPS are blooming.

whats too much? 10,000k just too bright mebey take 2 t5 bulbs out and add 6500k t5 bulbs

the 65k t5's are real yellowish, had them and used them for 3 days and switched out, but as i said the 14k's have alot of difference in color temp, if you read through sanray's stuff on lighting in rc it might give you a better idea

It depends on what you like, if you go with a 14k bulb and wish to keep the actinic supplement. you can do one of these. Find a bulb that gets as close to white with a slight blue tint and continue to use you actinic or buy a bulb that will give you the color you like and just use the actinic for dawn to dusk application for example, have your act bulbs come on first, then have your MH come on with the actinic for like one hour, then turn your actinic off. the one hour before you mh come on turn on your actinic again. First decide how long your photo period will be.
For example this is what i would do....
Act on 2:00, mh on at 3:00 actinic off at 4:00, actinic back on at 9:00, Mh off at 10:00, actinic off at eleven
Recap
actinic will be on a total 4 hours
MH will be on a total 7 hours.
your can reduce or add accordingly

It depends all on you. Some people like 20k and some like 10k I myself like the 14k I get good growth and a nice semi blue color.

your say add some white to the t5 like 2 bulbs white and 2 bulbs antic and keep them all on i just what to add a little more white i am not hurming any thing right mabey add one white to the t5 and see what i get.

if i could find a 8 bulb t5 for new set up thats what i would use, i like the mh using a 250w now with 14k usio i think thats the bulb.
