on tuesday between the hour of 10:00 and 11:00 i will have no electricty due to repairs from con-ed doing work streetwise to my building will my tank be ok for that 1 hour

will be okay for an hour....but get a battery powered air pump just to keep the water oxygenated so the fish dont stress. I normally kill all power to my tanks when i do water changes and that takes about an hr since i'm slow

Ditto on the battery operated air pump..just in case Con-Ed is delayed for any reason.
If you use a canister filter for anything on your system, you'll want to dump the water & change the contents before restarting as the bacteria in them dies very quickly due to lack of flow.

Are you going to be home while the power is shut off?

APC makes great UPS unite, I am sure there are plenty on sale. Check Best Buy, Circuit City and Staples for the largest watt unit you can find and keep it plugged into your return pump year round!

con-ed may say its an hour.....but add another hour or 2 to it....so...prepare for it..
