Happy Holidays everyone I've had my reef tank set up for about 2yrs about 7 months ago I put my first zoe's and mushrooms in . I am just wondering how to get the most growth from them ? I have 2 96 watt pc's and I feed them the vita reef stuff about once a week but I am just wondering if there is something that really affects growth . I've been reading on the site and so many people are talking about mushrooms taking over . I can't get them to multiply ?

I have to agree with Chiefs advice. Be careful what you wish for, because once they take over they are hard to control. I always separated them from other corals by having them stay on specific rocks that are easily removable from the tank (and fraggable, :D).

IVe had my mushrooms for 3 years now and believe me I trim them back more then the macro algae in my refugium. Be patient and one day BOOM thousands of mushrooms!!!

ok guys, flame me if you want, but seven months seems like a long time for a mushroom not to grow or divide in a mature set up.

Jaymo, You've had your tank for 2 years so you probably have other stuff in there. Did you put your mushrooms next to something more aggressive? What is your tank set up over all, and what are your parameters?

Must be the neighbors.
I had mushrooms that just kept on splitting. Then they stopped and the next thing you know they were melting away. So it depends a lot on what else is in the tank or around them.
