But I'm not sure if it is necessary. I have a 55 gal with lots of corals lps, zoas, and just acouple of fish, you get the idea. I'm using cf lighting and while everything looks great, I don't see alot of growth. I also just got a piece of Acan Lord and I don't know how it will do under cf lighting.

There are a million other variable that could contribute to slow growth rates, but I would say in your case, the lights are certainly a good place to start your upgrade.

How are you water params?

How is the rest of the system setup? Skimmer, Sump, etc?

Water has been great for months, I have an Aquaclear filter and a seaclone 100 protien skimmer. I do about a 7gal water change weekly. But I don't really use suppplements. Ph 8.2, alk 3.20,cal 450, mag1500. Plenty of coralline on the 90 lbs of LR with a bare bottom.

what are you using to test. on a 55g you will need more that a aquaclear hob filter and throw the seaclone away, i would worry more about getting a better skimmer than lights

Thanks, ya I think your right and the sump will be my next project. I really need some more info about sumps before I proceed. Any suggestions on whether to buy or build one would be welcome.
