thanks, but how do u determine if they're decent or not? like by the wattage and K output?

Don't worry so much about that with what your keeping..
If you're thinking lower light corals (zoos, softies, etc.)
that T5 light would work great for you...if you can swing
buying 2 do it you will be less limited on what you can put into
your tank :)

As far as K values go in a reef tank 6500k to 10,000k
are mainly for growth the actinic is going to make the
colors pop out for you..Most buy the 10,000k and the
actinic blue (460) just like the T5 setup Killerdrgn pointed
out for you..

I would stay away from the PC's you're looking at, the T5
has much better light output with lower power consumption
I have PC's and VHO T12 right now myself over 200 watts
on a 37g and I'm replacing it with just under 100 watts of t5
soon.

In other words hands down, the T5 will be better just make sure
you buy the HO apox 12 watts per foot the N.O. is only 7 watts
per foot or something like that.

per foot or something like that."
i have no idea what HO and NO mean. does HO mean High Output?

Sorry about that..Yes HO is High output and NO is Normal Output
I've seen cheep 4 bulb light that had N.O. bulbs...the N.O. would
be fine for FISH ONLY but not with coral.
