I know there a number of posts about the types of inverts to get for a clean up crew. I have a question of when to put them in? How many? Do you put them in all at once? The reason I am asking is you can buy them in a package like the ones listed below I grabed off a site. I have a 110 gallon so I would be going for the 150. It would come with almost 250 creatures wouldnt send my tank for a loop?
Astraea Snails 30
Nerite Snails 35
Margarita Snails 35
Turbo Snails 14
Onyx Nassarius Snails 60
Red Leg Reef Hermit Crabs 35
Zebra Hermit Crabs 35
Emerald Crabs 5

Thats what I was thinking my tank is still new and there would not be much for all those guys to much on. I guess if I grab 5 to 10 every month from my lfs it would be better in the long run?

You can't buy a crew if there is not enough to feed them so why bother. Besides, cleaning crews never solve problems they just help keep things in order. Once things out of hand you need to find the cause to get it resolved. So first wait to see what develops and then buy the critters that will help you. Some people (me included) do not want any kind of crabs because they are too opportunistic and will eat things that you were not planning on. You can always use some algae eating snails and detritus eaters and sand sifters like nassarius. But why bother with packages that give you a small discount but load you up with critters you really don't need or dont want.

I also like to see different critters in my tank and some are needed to help keep a balance. You need algae eaters and sand stirrers. But if you are out of balance a crew will not solve your problems.
