Getting first corals

How long is a few months ? I would start reading a lot of books on the subject. The corals can wait a little longer. I know its hard but you're going to save alot of money and headachs. just speaking from experience:teeth:.
sorry - 55g. PC lighting (2x 65w sunpaq dual daylight and 2x 65w blue actinic), bakpak 2R+ skimmer, 80 lbs liverock, 630 gph of powerheads. This tank in my home is only about 2 months old but I bought it from an office where it had been for four years. Transferred all live rock and left substrate and a small amount of water intact. Also transferred about 60% of original water.
From what I've researched I could keep some SPS right? I'm interested in getting a Bubbletip anemone also and it seems it would be ok with this setup, although more light would be optimal...:scratch:
well yeah no sps is recommended under pc's but then again i saw some tanks where people had sps and had pc's and they were growing but then again again i would recommend it for starters. I would go with softies such as zoa's, mushroom. polyps, and an anenome. sorry for the type if there is any but i am typing this as i am drunk so its probably not a good idea to listen to me :lol2:
I wqould stay with the current lighting that you have right now and then just upgrade as you upgrade in corals. U should be fine with the corals that i mentioned with the curretn lighting.

Also, contact 1 of the local vendors and get some B-Ionic 2 part system(for all trace elements), you can google the name(if you dont have this kind of stuff already)

Thats what I would do....But like I said, Im not sure, ask some of the more experianced reefers here.
If you would like, I have a koralia 2 I can give you(for free) but, that will only add another 200 GPH(or so)

I think the Koralia 2 is over 400GPH but more disperse. They are nice powerheads....low wattage which because you are using CPs you will be happy to have less heat. Get two and they will give you a nice flow IMO.

I agree that you should have more flow in your tank.
I'd jump on the offer of the Koralia 2 - those are rated at 600 gph.
There are fishguards & concentrators available for them now (I have them directly from Hydor..so if you get the p/h and it doesn't have it, LMK & I'll sent it to you). The concentrators lessen the width of the flow and send it further across the tank..very handy little item.
Can you possibly post some pics of your tank so we can see the layout and suggest some corals that you can read up on..we are on the web here...and then make your decisions based on your research
