Hello everyone I know there always many questions about crabs but I was wondering if getting a bunch of red legged and blue legged crabs can hurt my Fish only tank (Exception of a few Anemones for the clowns).

I want to get these crabs as my clean up crew because too help the tank's Bio load.

Should I stick half (about 7 out of 14) in the sump and the rest in the tank or all in the tank or all in the sump?

What will be most beneficial for my Fish and Tank filtration.

Would appreciate any comments.

If you mean hermits then they are only a threat to snails, they attack snails for the shells so just buy some shells to avoid this.Other crabs are more of a risk, assume they will eat what they can catch. If there is something in your sump you want cleaned then put some in there but it's most likely the stuff you want cleaned is in the main tank.

why do you feel you need hermits in your sump ? if you dont have sand in there they wont really do anything and you can always get a few extra shells that are larger to put in the tank for them to take over

Thanks will do they will be hermit crabs. What is the risk when the fish go to sleep are they always at risk.

Ive got really aggressive really big hermits,to be honest I don't know if they will harm your fish, but I did have a flasher wrasse die from a wound and my tang is currently recovering from another...hmm:scratch:.... I say get small hermits, they shouldn't be able to do any real harm and will probably be intimidated by fish.
