Two things i thought which are not conducive to good water quality

Dense rock formation for plenty of trade food, crushed coral substrate

might be the bulb also. Ive noticed cyano under certain bulbs (wavelengths) more than others. Well, if there is a cyano problem it fourishes more so under certain bulbs.

Rich, I've not tried the lamotte, I would think that would be a good kit as well.

I have the deltec po4 kit, that was not cheap either, I like that one as well. real simple and it's accurate.
