Ten days ago we added the LR to our tank to start curing.

Friday I tested and there was no ammonia, but nitrite. Today I tested and there is still nitrite but also some nitrate. Currently am making RO/DI water for a water change.

The nitrite is lower than it was two days ago, the nitrate is 20 now. My question is this... how much water/percentage should we change?

Can I anticipate the nitrite to spike again or should this be it?

Looking forward to get everything moving but I never expected any type of progress this fast in the cycle.

the cycle depends on how cured your LR is.....or whatever else that might have some die-off......i would wait until you see nomore nitrite before you do a water change....
and if it was me...i would wait until i dont see anymore ammonia or nitirite and wait a few more days before i do a water change....thats just to let things balance out...
