Skimmer is NOt skimming...

either my water is perfect.. or my skimmer is not working.. the cup is empty .. I cleaned it and replace the PH and still... the cup is empty .. any suggestion... I have this for almost 2-3 months.. I am using it in my 50 gallons tank...

have the same skimmer, so far after 4 days of skimming i got about a 1/4 cup of gunk, i usually see minor foam build up at the surface of the top of the collector cup and thats what i get every couple of hours, but it never gets crazy where it just fills up ...

In my system its skimming very very dry ...

I cleaned the injector and it seems it is skimming... little...

I just noticed if in the cup where the foam rises there is any gunk build up, it won't rise and fall into the actual cup ... just cleaned mine out for the first time and now its really dry skimming :splitspin

javier, i had the same EXACT problem and found the solution here. u need to clean the injectors. then take it off ur tank and run it in a bucket or something , i used a bucket and mixed white vinegar and water. i let it run like an hour or so on the vinegar mix then emptied the bucket and ran it with clean water. rinsed it real good and put it back on my tank. its been working like new on my tank for months now.
