i'm in the process of setting up a 95 gallon tank with a 75 gallon sump
i have a chance at getting an aqua c ev400 with a mag 9 pump
i know it's rated for 120-600 gal way more than i have
can i use this skimmer or is to large for my set up ?
i'm just looking for personal experiences

Skimmer ratings mean nothing. Lots of skimmer makers hype up the performance so more people buy it. Just about all brands do this. IMO aqua c EV skimmers are kind of weak. They skim, but so many more skimmers skim better these days using less electricity and making less noise. You definitely don't have to worry about over skimming your tank with an EV 400.

it's really not 170 gallons ,rock sand in tank, and sump is no where near 75 gallons when you make part of it into a refugium and the skimmer in another section
so i'm figuring maybe 120 gallons when i saw the 120- to 600 the 600 threw me thats all
thanks jackson thats all i wanted to know

overskimming is really the skimmer taking out to many trace elements and you not replacing them. I used to be scared of overskimming but I've found that good husbandry can eliminate it from happening.
