Iwasaki 14K DE Bulb

I am about to upgrade to a 250MH system and was looking to get a 250w iwasaki 14k de bulb, so far the only place I have found that sells it is marinedepot.com which sells it for 100, which is kind of expensive imo. So does anyone know someplace else that might sell the bulb for less, or is that the normal price for that bulb?

Only on an Ice Cap. Nice lamp, but it looks better supplemented with actinics.

How does the color compare to the Phoenix and Ushio 14K's?

Sent them a PM I know they have them in stock. Saw them with my own eyes.

I'm running them on a coralife ballast and they are a little yellow for my taste. My atinic supplimentation is 130 total watts and I think if it were a little higher it would make the Iwasakis would look better on my tank.

The phoenix are way bluer. I prefer the Ushio, particularly if you don't have supplemental lighting. The Iwasaki's seem a little monochromatic white.

I've decided to swap them out for Aqualine Bushke 20,000k bulbs. I'll change my 2 PC bulbs from actinic to 10k if I need to balance things out a bit.

The bulb color is awesome with suppliments on the icecap ballast. But ive noticed low growth with them. Colors came out amazing though. I switched to the fauna 12.5k's.

Its whiter than the phoenix but still has that blue color. prolly the closest without getting a 20k or a phoenix

I have to agree. The Iwasaki's are a very crisp white with a shade towards the blue. Personally I like the bulbs, but I like the Phoenix and the Ushio's too. Such a personal preference with lighting.
