Moving My Nano

Ok...so I have posted many different questions...

Here is one I hope to get many responses, ideas & opinions!
I am moving from Tribeca to Park Slope in about two months(maybe three)and need to move my 24G Nano. I am planning on upgrading, which might make things easier, not having to "reset" the old tank up...however, it looks like I will have to wait until the fall, possibly Jan for the new set up.

SO...how I successfully move my tank, critters, fish and corals, LR and sand to the new place???(tank is about 27 months established)

Obvioulsly I will need to remove things...but won't that cause my coraline to bleach and die(the algae on the tank) and it that a concern??

don't know if my experiences will help you but its similiar to when i bought my live rock (all covered in coraline) and when it entered my tank it went through a die off period before it came back ... it was fun to watch over the course of time since it started as green coraline, than transfered to purple etc...

Depending on how long your tank is in transit you could expect some die off, but under the right conditions it should come back

I expect it would be 4-5 hours min, before water would be back in my tank at the new place...
I have had my coral line die off during a water change/tank maintenance. It hits the air for about hour, and it dies...but yes, it comes back.

I moved my old nano a few times. It's pretty easy. Get a couple of 5 gallon buckets, a 20 gallon bin and some cheapo plastic sandwich containers.

First of all, make 10 gallons of new saltwater at your new place.

Poke a bunch of holes in the plastic containers, and put each coral in seperately (if they're not attached to the rocks)

put in the 20 gallon and cover with water.

Put all your fish in 1 5 gallon bucket, fill halfway with water. Put one of your battery powered airstones in the bucket. Put the lid on, and put a blanket over the bucket.

Put all your rocks into other buckets. pack them in there then fill the buckets with water.

Drain the water from the tank, and leave about 1" above the sand.

Move everything to the new place.

put the rocks in, the corals, then the fish. Fill the tank up with new saltwater and open a beer!

but i would use more of "your" water before using the new water.
