looking to start using polyp lab products any use this stuff they say it not as bad as zoevit . so my question is anybody ever use this stuff or just wasting my money? thanks for any help
honestly IMO if you folow this part of their instrucitons
10% bi-weekly or 25% monthly water changes. These water changes are required. ● Run a 1/4 cup of high quality carbon 24/7 for every 50G in a high flow area. Replace monthly. ● Use only RO/DI water in the aquarium. ● Feed your fish and corals high quality foods that will not rapidly break down. ● Do not overfeed fish and corals. ● Strong skimming that is appropriately rated for your tank size and bioload. ● Appropriately strong lighting for the type of corals you keep in your aquarium.<--- I ripped this right off their page
you can pretty much skip buying/using any of their products. most of what I see on their website can be termed snake oil, the other products like the phosphate absorber wont be needed if your not overfeeding and doing waterchanges properly.......
this statement alone is enough to make me run for the hills
"Additionally, unlike any other coral food, RF-Plus has been engineered to be free of nitrates and phosphates"
really? no other coral food is nitrate free when produced? wow these guys are the only ones in the bussines they will corner the market! :irked: I hate BS marketing claims. everyone has the ONE AND ONLY miracle product.
Why put anything in your tank other than it fills a specific need. What are you trying to accomplish and then find a process or product that will help you fill that need. Anything else is just a waste.
but you look at zeovit or polyp lab tank pics and wow do you see the corals in tose tanks its just amazing!!!!!!!!!!! i dont think i antbody can get color like that without using something.what do you think?
well look at my "I'm new here" thread and see the close ups of my corals. I dont use any of that stuff.
dont forget a lot of companies are not above "photoshop" tweaking their pictures to make stuff look more colorful, or hopping up the color saturation, even fiddeling with camera settings can make a difference between a coral looking drab and looking like a million $
jer get nitrate and phos down and corals will color up more if rest of water chem is where it should be, also what light's are you using ? and the zeovit is alot more than polylab, alot of people that really need to use poly or amino's dont have fish or close to none and need to add suppliment's to the tank, they dont have the nutrient's to feed corals, so they have to add them
