Clams/lights

I HAVE A 30 GALLON TANK THAT IS 16" HIGH.I HAVE 2 39 WATT T5 HO BULBS AND 1 96 WATT 50/50 BULB.CAN I KEEP A CLAM IN THIS LIGHTING CONDITIONS?HELP:Lurking:

In most cases, people will say no - you need more.

I have successfully kept clams under dual 96w 50/50 PC bulbs, but the appropriate answer is no, they'd need more lighting.

if you were to keep one, stick with the larger clams (3" or better) and squamosa's as they are the likely easiest to keep - Up to you.

Based on the presentation given by James Fatheree at last years MACNA, he says unequivocally NO. However, if you're hell bent on getting a clam regardless of the information given, then do what Jim and Wes recommend, get a 3" or larger squamosa or derasa.
