Is it alright if I use only a phosban without an RO/RI filter? or will my phosphates be too high. I know it prob depends on my tap water. i live in Nassau LI town of Oyster Bay

test your tap water and see how high it is in phosphate

..but only if you're testing with a Hanna Meter, otherwise you won't get an accurate enough reading.

IMO, no matter what the reading is, at an absolute minimum you should use a tap water filter. I think there is one currently on the For Sale thread.
