I have over 300g of water (200g tank, 70g fuge, and 100g sump) with hardly any fish (maybe 15 small guys) and very little coral. I got a phosban reactor and a giant protein skimmer and my fuge has a small amount of algae in it. I just do NOT see any traces of Ammonia, or any nitrates or nitrites. PH is good, around 8, 8.1 and calcium is around 450.

Is there any point in doing water changes if the system seems to be in stasis?

The last time I changed water was over a month ago...

Yes, there may be elements you're not testing for that are crucial for coral growth or fish health. Over time, these elements deplete leaving your livestock without the best possible conditions for growth/health.
