Hello Guys!

I just got back from the Bahamas and purchased a Denitrator. Pretty excited... but am a little curious with regards to any precautions I should take and what I have to do for maintenance. Is there anything I should know?

You have to dose it vodka or a sugar soultion every 3-5 days and you have to adjust the outflow at least once a day ( open the valve all the way and shake the hose around. this will allow the flow to flush out bacteria that are in the hose and blocking proper flow. (dont worry its ok to let that bacteria in your tank water))twice if you have high nitrates already. My nitrates are 0 but i still adjust the flow twice a day. Like said i the last post it will take some time to cycle and show any improvement. Just be patient and be diligent about feeding and adjusting flow. Also put your outflow near your skimmer intake, becasue the water coming out will have no o2 in it.

Aquaripure - cycling

Hi gang,

I just bought one two weeks ago. Any ideas on how long the aquaripure takes to cycle. Just ball park. My nitrates, are way high 80-100ppm.

Thanks, James

It could take up to 6 weeks or more to really get going. In the mean time you should do some water changes to get your nitrates lower so it doesnt have to work as hard. Once your denitrator does get going you will have to dose it regularly and it is going to produce so much bacteria that it is goign to clog the outflow rite up. just adjust it twice a day nd be sure to open the valve all the way to flush the bacteria out of the line before you adjust it. You may even need to shake the hose to get it all out.

good luck with it you will ove it when it gets going.

Dude I just got it in the mail. I hooked up the pump and everything.

Now my question is... I had it running and then all of a sudden water started squirting out of the EZ Feed System. What do I do? Am I doing something wrong?

Hmmm... okay I think the unit just got really full and I left the flow line open too long?

Checked it again. I have the syringe on the thing and it is stopping the squirting, but when I took it out it started to squirt again.

Aquaripure

I don't think it should be squirting at all. Did you loosen and then tighten the top nut. Mine did not drip or leak water at all.

The unit is supposed to be compleatly full. I have the little pump that came with it on the inlet and i have the valve on the outlet that i let a very slow flow go through it. Mine is sitting rite next to my sump so the water returns at the same hight it came out at. do you have your line going up hill and maby it is easier for the water to go out the ez feed instead of out the return line. Try turning off the pump and pulling apart the ez feed to see if you can see any prob there. I dont know but perhaps there is a one way valve in the ez feed and its not working or they just forgot to use one.
