quick question about what sand to use.

I am jumping back into the hobbie. I used South down play sand for my first setup because the sand in the FS was soo expensive. Is there anything out there that is like the south down play sand or do I have to suck it up and get the sand from the local FS.

Hate to say it but it looks like you're going to need to think outside the sandbox of Southdown

Have you tried the FS on NY59 in Nanuet? Animal Kingdom I think they are called. They seem to know what they are doing. The one in Yonkers on Central av is the pits!!!

I saw some play sand at toy's R us about five years ago when i returned to buy some it was all gone.

Pavestone Desert White Playsand home depot carries it, i know more than a couple of people that uses it
