Hi, guys, first of all I would like to say hello to everyone, its been a while, actually since 2007 that I've been active on this website.

I need your advice....

I have a 1/3hp sequence pump that started to make cranky whining noise
so I'm looking to replace it. I'm worried that I don't see exact MDM Sequence pump that I have on right now, the one I have is made in Germany wth a switch on top of the motor. Inlet & out let needs to be 1.5 inches both. http://www.mdminc.com/Sequence1000.aspx its 5100seq22. But then again I put the pump in 2002 so its been a good run! Any recommendation what new workhorse is out there or where to buy pumps at best price etc?

I also need to buy Little giant 2mdsq...for those that are saying whats he doing with little giant!!! its for my calcium rxtor and after 7 yrs it needs to be replaced, and I just want to swap it without doing any crazy plumming work. so please guys HELP!!!!!! where to find these pumps.

Sincerely,

Hi Sethkim.

have you stripped the motor. Chances are it just needs an overhaul with new bearings and a seal kit. Not sure where you can get the seal kits from over there, but i doubt it would be difficult (iirc Reeflo still use the same pump shaft and volute housing as the oldder ones..)

I cant remember bearing number off the top of my head but i did a batch of these pumps and the 1000lph ones a while back and they were pretty easy to replace. The bearing number is stamped on the shell of the old ones so you just need to call a bearing shop with the number and they will cross referance it and supply new ones.

Its actually quite easy to do and they are about the only waearable componant bar the seal so a full service should see you running like new again.

Regards

Simon.
