I am having a little algae bloom, not sure what type but some are green, brown, and red. Its not overblown just alittle and I have been feeding alot lately to my clowns and wrasse and my lighting is T5 for about 6hrs/day. I just tested my Nitrates and its 0 but PO4 is 2, could that be the reason for the bloom because I thought have Nitrates at 0 is good and also I have some chaeto too, any advice is welcome, thanks.

How old is the setup. Tanks goes through cycles including various algae problems that are almost impossible to avoid. Overfeeding will cause problems as will phosphates.

The tank is about 6months old.

Is there any relations between nitrates and phosphates? Can you have 0 nitrates but raising phosphates?

yes you can have high po4 and no nitrates

are you running po4 reactor or media? you should...try few days with no lights, but it will only work temperately. you need to find main source. you have clean up crew?

yeah i have a cuc, but i dont use a reactor, it might be my ro/di water, looking at replacing the unit.
