Hi,
My name is Rich, and I was a recovering reef-holic, until a few weeks ago when I cajoled my wife to let me restart after years of nagging. She renegged in a few days. But I re-cajoled her. :tongue1:
Normally I would lurk a forum for a few months before joining, but this morning on a day off work I read the entire skimmer thread in 2 hours and that convinced me what a great group Manhattan Reefs is.
I started by buying a used drilled 75 gallon AGA from a guy on Craigslist and I am heavily researching equipment and mentally planning my sump. Current mental dilemma is finding the right skimmer for a mixed reef (I like to overskim and I only want to buy 1 skimmer, ever)
Anyway, I hope to have this project running in 2010 (I know, why wait that long?!!), but my last project was a small, mostly DIY 38 gallon (just 3 normal output fluorescent strips on a glass top!) , and this time I want to do it <right>.
Hopefully the 2nd time is the charm.
Thanks for letting me in,
Rich,
NNJ
