Hey,

I was wondering, if you see something that is just really wrong in a for sale should we comment. I mean, you really know its wrong and an accident waiting to happen? And to clarify, I'm not speaking about the vendor section. If I saw something wrong there I wouldn't comment regardless.

A friend of mine has a 24" tall 450 gallon tank he's selling but It looks to scary 1/2" acrylic,,, that much water.. I'll pass..lol
I've always been told that the pressure is from the depth (top to bottom) a 24" panel has the same pressure on it, from 50 gals, to 450 gals, and in fact could hold back the ocean at a depth of 24" (not figuring wave pressures)...point being, if you trust 1/2" panel (glass or acrylic) with a 24" 50g tank, its the same pressure on it, with the 1050g tank.

i can see where people would get tired of replying and saying the same over and over, then being attacked for it. this really is a information board. alot of time better to have someone point something out and if he or she is wrong politely show them it isn't. alot of different personalities and thoughts in the hobby.

my dad alway's told me the only stupid question's are the one's not asked
