I just noticed this white mark, spot, scratch on the mouth of my female maroon clown. Any idea what it is? There are no other marks or spots on her or the male.
JoJO google cauliflower disease- my cardinal had it 90% of the time isnt fatal. Is also called lymph something or other- but you can find it under cauliflower-- not saying thats what it is but google it for images, may help you out.
Also, be careful how you treat it, most broad spectrum chemicals used for this are not good for clowns as it burns them and affects the mucus they excrete.
try feeding with garlic xtreme soaked food or use a QT system before treating the tank.
Thank You every1 for your responses and suggestions.
The spot has disappeared at the moment. I have not come to a conclusion on what the spot was but I am continuing to research the possibilities. For now I am going to increase the amount of garlic fed food from 2-3 times a week to 4-5 times. My only concern is that it seems that both fish tend to give the food to my RBTA than eat.
I can not rule anything out. But if it were an injury, then it healed really quickly, there are no signs of the spot on her mouth at all. Hopefully it was a scratch or some sort of minor injury, I wont worry as much.
