100+G Tank with Custom Stand and Canopy

I have no idea how much all the oak and hardware, piano hinge and locks were.

My father designed and handcrafted the entire thing. He put in alot of labor and craftmanship in the carpentry. He's my father he didnt charge me. Its worth probably more than $2000, its brand new.

have no idea, Ive gotten and collected and traded so much stuff over the years to get this dream setup of mine going and the last year was a blur with personal tragedies so I dont recall.

I do remember I had to wash the inside with vinegar for a few days and carefully scrape out all the encrusted algae. I painted the back with high gloss black paint. I also buffed the inside of the tank with a very fine powder used to buff diamonds. I didnt complete the buffing due to shoulder surgery and now broken collar bone. I will throw in the fine diamond dust in for free, all you need is a cheap buffer, I think mine was $15 in Home Depot.

The tank comes with the setup Im not separating bc the stand and canopy were made for the tanks custom measurements.

Perhaps you could donate it to a non profit and get a tax write off? I think you could donate to a school and get a write off....and i would think that would make you feel good...using what you and your father built to brighten the day of hundreds of people, and perhaps even convert a few new reefers.

You write it off at like 4k or so, maybe higher (depending on actual value).

Yes well unfortunately I need money, notice I said need not want. I am the type of person that usually gives alot to charity etc but now Im basically the one who needs charity. Not that I need to explain myself but I am now a single mom of two boys with no income from their father who abandoned us so need to sell whatever I can.

When I was having the cabinet built I got quotes from carpentry companies that quoted nearly $4000 to have it made. Its a heavy duty piece its not made out of flimsy materials like the kind you buy in stores, its like another piece of furniture.

I thought my asking price was reasonable. Im not asking anything for the tank. But since the stand and canopy were made specifically for that tank its included. Unless you want to spend money and have another tank made to those measurements? What would be a more reasonable price?

The only thing that isnt new is the tank, the canopy and stand are brand new.

No offense taken just dont like to explain the crappy situation Im in right now.

Like I said I am usually the one giving to charity whether money or even my time but now the shoe is on the other foot. I cant even begin to tell you how many corals I have given away and salt and fresh water equipment, but that was when my finances were ok.

Next thing to go on the market is my engagement ring. Moderators dont flame me Im not selling it here. And I hope no one says they think its wrong bc it was a gift to me and I didnt buy it.

I am rethinking the stand and canopy, going to keep them and redesign them as furniture since its all handcarved moldings etc.

The tank is free to whoever wants it and can come get it asap
