I have a bristletail filefish that i bought for majano anemone infestation, he did his job and now cant keep him anymore, has killed most snails crabs starfish. Beautiful fish have had him for about 8 months. Looking to trade for reef friendly fish or a small lion. will consider all offers. Thanks

Mine ate snails SPS,acans, zoos. dont recommend these fish at all for a reef tank i dont care what a long term member says. ive seen it first hand. fowler yes reef nooo

I think some people are getting filefish that are NOT Bristletail.. I believe there are a couple types that look similar , and most LFS just 'assume' that it is reefsafe/ aiptasia eating!
The pair that I have ( for a year) are from Dom /DOTR, and have been 'loaned' to at least 7 diff. tanks, all without problems, EXCEPT zoas!

+1, Every fish is different but mine have eaten zoo's and sympodium and not touched anything else. It all really boils down to how much aiptasia you have. If's it bad enough the damage the filefish does to your livestock is nothing compared to what the anemones will do
