i have a friend in huntington that i can go to, but he only has a small tank and honestly its been a week, to go through all that and then come home and get power in 2 days. the risk to me doesn't seem smart when i can just sell everything and at least get some of my money back rather then risking it. dont really know what to do guys, i worked so hard over the past year and dumped all the money i had into this, if i lose everything i dont think i can come back for a long time, so i am just trying to be cautious and make the best decision i can. right now i havent lost anything but i am already in 400$ in gas you got to throw in the towel at one point.

Maybe somebody who just got power back has some gas they can lend you. I used this site here (http://www.hessexpress.com/fuelinformation) to get information on what Hess gas stations had gas by me. They update it every few hours. Also some stations have a line for gas cans only. I waited an hour to fill up two 5 gallon cans. Better than the 3 plus hours some cars are waiting. I've been without power since 3pm on Monday, so I feel for you. Hope everything works out.

Jarrett, can you get a DC to AC inverter and a big marine battery? Perhaps that could keep your circ. pumps going, and lights going for a few hours each day.

Hey had my tank alive by a 400 watt inverter that I got at Walmart for $40 and my power came back on if you need to I can let you hold on to it till your power comes back on. It had two pumps and a heater on it on a car battery and it was on for 16 hours and then I would jump start it with my car. I did it for a week!

its ok rich theres no reason to put you out of your way to come all the way here for a gallon of gas, i appreciate everyones concern and kindness. i am going to keep in it as long as i can i will keep everyone updated

i hope no one takes offense to me turning down the offers in help, its just everyone is really far that can help and its not fair to put you guys out of your way for the little everyone can do. its appreciated but i just need power. i have the generator which is great but i can only afford it for so long. will see how it goes i am really really hoping i get power this weekend i mean everyone around me is up theres no reason why i am not i dont even have falling trees on my neighborhood lipa was here on monday and fixed a pole in my neighborhood but never bothered to finish the job and restore the power i am not happy with them at all and i know everyone is praising them but i dont see it that way.

its not fair your all the way in staten island your a good guy i appreciate your help i really do by saturday i think i am bringing my corals to my friends house or hopefully having a bunch of guys to buy some on sunday at this point the money would help my family more then i need the corals that seems more important to me right now.

its a 5 gallon generator that gets me 10 hours i have been able to run it through out the day and at night till 12. the corals and fish dont seem to bothered by the power being out all night i wake up every hour and stir the tank. yes for 4 days straight ive been doing this lets just say lack of sleep is an understatement right now lol. my dad just offered to pay for the next couple rounds of gas so thats good news that will get me a couple more days atleast

Do you have ecotechs? I have a battery backup charging at my moms in Bethpage right now. I got my power back so you are welcome to use it. I also have 3 battery powered air pumps if you need them. I am just in Westbury. Welcome to put whatever you want in my 90 but not sure how healthy it is. It was at 64 degrees when the power came back on. No visible deaths though yet. Looks like the fish and nems pulled through.

i work in westbury at lumber liquidators, i can totally use that battery back up for at night when the generator goes off. if i could borrow it could i get it from you tmw?

I have plenty of spare tanks to use. I have full power as well. I belive you are in bethpage as per your other post. We can setup my 55 and 30 long which would cover you ad some room to spare. I am in farmingdale and yes I have gasoline in my jeep so we can complete the transfer today.
