Hey im selling these Pukani rocks i have. If you didnt know you should know when you buy these rocks they come laden with animals and or phosphates. Among other things.
After a ton of research i dipped these rocks for 2 days in bleach and ro/di water at 1 part bleach 1 part water. This made the organics very soft and ripe for dissolving buhahahaaa!
Then i dipped them in pure vinegar (no water) for 3 days until i saw that the solution had lost its acidity by rock dissolving into vinegar like tums to heartburn.
after this they got a day in ro/di water and ro/di swish to get the calcium mud off.
I have 3 videos. 1st shows them in my tank before the clean so u get a good picture of their size. The tank is a 60x18x28.
The second video is the vinegar disolving away. The third video is after the vinegar hide finally lost its potency.
Many people do this with muratic acid and are done in a few hours instead of few days. But i was in no rush and rather not mess with things that can burn a finger off.
Ive decided to go in another direction so am selling all.
You also get about a 5 gallon bucket filled with about 80% Pukani rubble and 20% fiji and tonga branch rubble as a free throw in. This rubble was not cleansed the way i did the main Pukani pieces but will be perfect for sump.
Also All this Pukani came from 2 very large pieces. I cut them down to get all the rock u see in video and the rubble. So these rocks have a flat bottom and back and can stand on their own with no worries.
The tub, 20x gallons of vinegar, 10x gallons of chlorine, saw, rocks, shipping etc all came out to way above $200 UNCURED and
Im selling all for $150 CURED.
Here are the videos enjoy....
