This guy has been living in my refugium for a while. Came in as a hitch hiker on some Gulf Live Rock (ie the stuff that was at the bottom of the ocean in a cage for 20 years).
I'm not sure of the exact species. Sorta looks like a Peacock, but i don't know if those are actually indigenous to the Gulf of Mexico. He's about 2- 3", brown-green, with green and orange and red highlights on his claws and face and antennae etc. He does the whole attack the glass thing often, and it's VERY loud, so yeah, he's the .22 caliber bullet type of mantis.
Pick up on 77th and 1st ave in NYC. Near Lenox Hill Hospital etc. Tonight, Monday, after 7 PM. I gutted my refugium this weekend and he's been living in a bucket. Gotta get him out today, that's Monday. PM is the key.
Again, free to a good home. This is a mantis shrimp - so you can't just dump him in your reef if you don't want your fish murdered! Refugium or species only tank.
