Super Goniopora collection

Pack of six Goniopora for $200. Releasing bright pink with yellow center for the first time. They are all captive grown thriving with SPS tank under T5.


Shipping is $25 additional although I prefer folks picking up. I will be posting separate thread for Zoas and SPS in case you would like to combine...

I do not do anything special for them but here are a few notable care in my tank. These goniopora's have been acquired over last two years from different vendors in frag swaps (MR, NJ and MACNA)...they are kept in around 200 PAR in SPS tank, with decent indirect flow and low nutrient. Although PAR has not mattered as much. they exhibit low polyp extension in high light and vice versa. I have switched between dosing and calcium reactor a few times but these have not shown adverse behavior as long as the numbers were within range. I do change 10% of water every two weeks.


Two of my clowns also host the colonies inspite of a large BTA.

If I could ever get gonipora to open up and extend I would buy these in a heartbeat. Every one i ever got refused to open up more than the bare minimum :/

You have serious water chemistry issues or have some fish/shrimp eating them. As I have mentioned several times before, I personally find these as the easiest corals to grow. I also grow SPS and Zoas in the same tank, which like any reef system, go thru good phases and bad phases...but never gonis. They have gone thru alkalinity swing, skimmer breakdown, overdoses, bio pellet...and only grown.

Putty them on rock and forget till its time to frag and they frag beautifully as well. Have not lost even one frag. I can offer you to give a tour of my tank. Let me know.

His tanks may be perfect, but IMO, most people purchase the wild caught Gonis from LFSs which are near impossible to get to survive in their tanks. Aquacultured gonis seem to do much better and are usually worth the additional $ if you want the coral to survive.

i find gonis easiest corals to grow too. Sam, do you have first 2 gonis extra outside of a pack. ? I have others.

Gonis die. Every goni i have purchased dies, only one alive is one i got GotFrags, he had it for a long time.

With that said, i purchased from Samsreef because he has had them for at least 16 months, that was the first time i went to his house. At the time i saw these gonis in 2014 each was fully encrusted on rocks. He glues everything on a rock and not discs.

The fact that he can keep them alive so long is enough proof for me, i have purchased from him before, if anything were to be wrong with the frags at the time of pick up he does not sell them.

OP does not need my endorsement, one of the few people i know that sells really nice corals at truly reasonable hobbyist prices, his frag tank is literally an opps i broke a coral or had to trim 8 inch high SPS colonies

A close up picture of the jaw dropping display would probably put an end to the high jacking

I'm interested in your "colony of red Goniopora" ($80). What is the diameter of the piece? How long have you had it? Please post a photo. I'm about 25 minutes east of you...
