It's good price for a Dussumierri tang, and it looks very healthy too. Would be a good addition for anyone with a 6' long tank.

Yup very good price but sorry, Duss get very big, even in the captive life. They are active swimmers and furious eaters. I have had one for 3 years and it out grew my 96 X 30 tank.

This fish already being 6 inches is NOT a candidate for a 6 foot tank. Yeah if the tank is 6 feet by 4 feet maybe. A 300G DD will not do justice to this fish at this size either.

Just my $00.2.

I know how big they get, currently have 3 in on of my tanks, one of them for many many years, without any problems and all doing very well, and they're all way bigger than 6".

A 6' tank is plenty big enough for a 6" tang, even one that will get fairly large. There are a number of other tangs that get bigger than the Dussumieri and are kept in a 6' tank without any problems. I had 2 Yellow Fin tangs, which are similar to the Dussumieri, but get way larger, and had them for years without any issues. Unless your tank is over pack with LR a 6' tank should be plenty larger enough for a Dussumieri tang.

I tend to disagree. Guess it is just a matter of opinion nothing against individual experience.

Maybe, but there are other larger tangs kept without any issues, like Sohal, Yellow Fins, Clown, Vlamingi, and Unicorn just to name a few that get very large and do very well in 6' long tanks. It all comes down to the setup and the amount of open space in the tank. Now issues of them getting along with other tangs, or fish, well that's another matter all together. Then again you can say the same thing about the large Angels that we keep, as most get to large for any of the tanks that we have, and the same can be said for most other fish too.

I think we should keep the OP in line. I agree with some of what you said and I have to stick with my own experience with everything else. I respect your opinion and I also have to go by my experience. As I said earlier, individual experience is what we need to respect.

BTW, Marrone I have never seen any pics of your tank. Is there a TOTT thread I missed? Would love to see your tank pics. :) I am a big fan of the TANGS.
