Had this fish for several months, fat and healthy. I'm looking to get rid of it because it bully's any other wrasse to death. I had to move a beat up melanarus into a seperate tank to heal.

This fish is well suited for a large FOWLR or a large reef where it would be only wrasse and no other docile fish it can bother.

$30, located in 11735.

does he nip at corals or snails and crabs??

Hasn't touched any coral. I don't have crabs in my system so I can't comment on that, I haven't witnessed him kill snails.

I do have empty snail shells turn up but that's in any of my tanks as they have pyramid snails on them. That was happening prior to him in my tank so I don't believe he's hunting them. But I'm sure he wouldn't turn down an easy meal of one turned upside down though.

This wrasse is considered in the same behavior as a red coris wrasse? It's face looks like it would be in the same family, has he picked on your other fish? Which ones in specific if so

is it a jumper? you have a lid?

It's a wrasse, so I would assume its very likely to jump. I have a canopy.

I have a checkerboard with a melanarus, vrolicks and dusky. Never have any issues so its not guaranteed this species is incompatible.

Nobody said anything about guarantees. It seems generally people don't have issues with this species.

Every fish is capable of carpet surfing, I'd go grab a kit to make a screen top. Not sure if two could be kept together.. Probably if tank is large enough.
