I have one too. He actually seems to fight more when I feed nori.

He seems to hate my 2 smaller mata tangs and my 3 yellow tangs.

Good thing is 5 of them in my 265 no one really gets beat up too much

3" is very small for a Sohal Tang, as it gets large it will become a major problem with the other Tangs, to the point of killing them. Larger Sohal Tangs do better with Triggers and Grouper and tougher fish.

I have a 5 inch one in a 265 with 20 anthias 10 wrasses, 5 angels , and 10 tangs. I had it for 9 months. He does chase the 2 mata tangs and 3 yellow all smaller than him All added after him. They where in a frag tank I sold. He leaves alone the larger rabbit fish , blue throat all anthias and angels. He leaves alone the larger hippo, blonde naso, powder blue, chevron He was a good boy for 6 months past 3 he chases. I just notice fins being nipped. Nothing major. Today I noticed a big white mark buy sohol mouth. Yellow tang probably got him in the face. Do you think it will get worse or do you think it will say the same

At 5" a Sohal Tang usually isn't a problem, but when they start to get around 10"-12" they usually become a major problems and will kill other Tangs, at which point they really need to be moved out and placed with other aggressive fish, like Triggers, Groupers, Eels and such.

I think people need to realized that they get pretty large, easily over a 1', at which point they don't just nip at other fish but attack them and usually kill them. They're beautiful fish, but in the long run they really shouldn't be part of a tank with other Tangs, even a very large tank.

I knew they get aggressive. Just never had one after many years and wanted to experience it for myself. So at 5 inches I have some time before I need to rehome it But I will keep and eye out.
