Hello everyone -

I bought this mandarin about a month and a half ago with the understanding that he was eating cyclopeez. As it turns out, this is not true. I have tried to care for him as best as I could, but it is time to throw in the towel while he still has a chance. I have a fuge packed with pods, but I think my other fish feed too aggressively to give the mandarin a chance in a 29g.

He is currently thin, but not emaciated, and still actively seeking food. I have tried him on frozen mysis, cyclopeez, and blood worms, and he has not eaten any of them. He MAY be eating baby brine shrimp - he always seemed to look fatter after I fed them, but it may be because the other fish were consumed with the brine and left the pods alone. I noticed today that he has a tear in his tail fin - I am not sure how that happened, though my guess would be in picking through my rock looking for food.

This fish must go to an established tank with a lot of LR and preferably a good sized refugium. He may eat frozen foods in the future, but currently he only eats pods.

$7.00 - pick up on the UES. I won't trap him out until I have a buyer. The only reason I'm charging is because I'm going to have to buy a fish trap to get him and this will defray my costs a little. :(

This photo is from the day I got him. He is currently thinner than this, with the aforementioned tear in his tail.
