As the title states I purchased an Apogee SQ-520 par meter last week and have tuned my LEDs to my liking. The 500 series is the best for dialing in LEDs because it captures almost all of the spectrum you can throw at it.
I used a heat gun and 1/2" PVC to make an arm for convenient par measurements.
I am renting out the par meter for $40
With a $300 cash deposit on pickup to be returned obviously when it is back in mint condition like it left.
Although I'm not crazy about renting this out, if it helps a couple reefers not blast or deprive their sps of light, it will be worth it. Please note PAR/PUR is only part of the equation, and Dana Riddle has some very good articles regarding this topic.
If you rent the meter PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you take very good care of it. Also please Rinse it with RO water and wipe it off when you are done.
