VARIOUS EHEIM PUMPS...
I have five Eheim pumps. All work well, some are cosmetically better than other. Two of them have cords that have been repaired, I wouldn't use these as submerged pumps. They work very well out of the water however. These are obviosly cheaper. I've used these for years and you can expect them o last maybe 15-20 years, IME.

1048 decent shape, can be submersed: $20.00
1260 Cannot be submersed, looks rough. Works well. I used this to run my MTC calcium reactor (Little Giants are junk, and run super hot): $15.00
1048 Cannot be submerged: $10.00
1250 Looks good. Needs a vinegar soak to look look excellent. Works perfectly. can be submered: $35.00
1250 Looks great, works great, can be submerged: $45.00

The Eheim that you ran on the MTC calcium reactor, did you have the ProCal or the MiniCal? I have a pump-less ProCal waiting to be set up and I'm wondering how well it would run with an Eheim. If it was the ProCal, do you feel the performance was still good with the Eheim and did you have to use a feed pump? Also, no chance that you still have any of the plumping parts you used to hook up the Eheim up if it was the ProCal?
