Dual 250w hqi ballast, mogul sockets, reflectors and 4 1/2 month old ushios/blv. I used the hqi to drive lamps such as radiums and ushios that required this ballast.

Do you need to run both ballast, since I only have a 33 gal oceanic cube but I will based on past experience probably try to get a 60 cube next year. Could I just run one side of the ballast? How old are the ballast?

Both ballasts have independent switches and power cords so you can just run one if you choose.

I would say they are about 2 years old. I originally used to run a regular pfo ballast.

So total package comes out to $535, and that is already deducting the usage of the lamps. They can last up to 12 months but i rated them at 9 months.

$535-$225=$310 savings.
