I have a Blue Hippo Tang, about 4-5" with HLLE and recently got ich. I believe the cause of ich is due to the size of my tank (46G)
He's been getting better as far as HLLE goes, he eats seaweed, brine shrimp, mysis, flake and pellets.
The sooner I get him out the better, mainly because i don't have the equipment to take the great care that it needs.
I paid about $60 for it in August and it got bigger.
I realized it was unrealistic to ask for money, so i'm looking for a trade such as an algae eater blenny or something like that.
Make an offer!!

Someone help the little dude out. The tang that is.

You might want to try to use some kind of garlic juice to treat the fish's food. I don't know the scientific explanation why it works, but it got rid of my fish's ick fast.

Good luck.

I put him in a QT tank with copper already...i just want him to find a good home.
I was too new when i got it and the LFS basically told me that this fish would do fine in my tank, and then after joining here, i found out that my tank was too small.

I doubt you will be able to get much money for a sick fish. HLLE is pretty serious stuff and can lead to ireversible damage. If I were you - I would give this fish away to someone who wants to nurse it back to health - a task that requires experience and lots of care. Think of it like this - you lost your money when you bought the fish and placed him in an undersized tank.

HLLE is not that hard to treat (use vitachem or Zoe it works for me that is), but the problem is the ICH, if you don't take care of it in the main tank. No matter what fish or equipment you buy you will get it. Your clown also has it just you don't see the ich. Of course with better equipment you will prolong his life a lot longer (just get rid of the ich)

I would just hypo the main tank for 6 weeks since you have no corals (take out the inverts).

The blue hippo should be fine for a long time in that tank anyway just my opinion.
