Ok I have listed my setup before and Was told price was high

I do nto want to sell pieces as I will get stuck with stuff Ihave no use for and no place to put

Here is what I have tell me what I should ask or what you would like to pay if you are interested.

As I mentioned and I knwo it is better to break down but I would rather get rid of it all

75 gallon tank some scratches normal wear and tear
black metal stand
nova extreme 6 bulb t5 lights ($399)
water general ro/di water filter($249)
bermuda hob skimmer ($300)with pump rio 1100
sump tank converted two sided
80 pounds live rock (paid 10 pound $800 I know too much aquarium adventure)
60 pounds live sand (caribe)
2# 3 koralia powerheads
1# 4 koralia powerhead (still in box)
1 eheim return pump ($200)
2 phosban reactors
various aditives Carbon.phosban, salt
Fish
1 clown
1 yellow tang
3 chromis
3 cardinals
1 royal gamma
2 dart fish
1 fire shrimp
10 hermits

Now again I really would rather sell it all package deal Not willing othave 2opeople come over and tak 1 or two fish If I sell the rock and notthe fish the fish will die If I sell the light and notthe fish the fish will die
I know you see my price so a reasonable deal will be accepted

Tank is running and will stay that way until you pick up

I personally am Hoping to get around $800 is that too much?

The problem may not be entirely the price. Even a member wanting to upgrade to a larger tank (75g) may not need all the items you're including in the package.

In this hobby, you don't turn a profit (unless you are a vendor) or break even, you usually take a loss.

Entire setups have been sold before, but it if usually works out better if you can part out, and hold a few items until a wanted post comes up.

Obviously sell in order of survival, livestock first, etc.

The best thing for you to get things rolling is to part out. People with existing tanks look for new additions, people lookin for upgrades look for parts. I would sell the livestock first, then the rock then drain it and sell the equipment in pieces or in groups. This way too people will see it as a smaller amount to pay. I know the overall cost on your part was "X" and that you are asking "Y" but "Y" maybe a tough nut to crack for alot of people and that by breaking down it spreads the price out amongst multiple people.

Sale!

Hello,

Perfectly put DEANOS, V&JPOOPS & CHIEF! It'll be best if you part out in the order suggested. Livestock, rock then equipment. Face it everyone's looking for a great deal that will benefit their setup. Most people will buy only what they need out of your system but not usually the entire set up. You won't be able to turn a profit with depreciation of your equipment but you should be able to recoup some of your money. Good Luck with your sale.

Thanks :approve:

You could possibly make more money back on it if you part out also, rather than discounting a big package.

You generally won't find people on this forum until they've actually bought a setup so to get people who want a complete start up package try craigslist or ebay

the sand should help, and you can do some water changes if your levels get out of hand.

When i was breaking down my nano (admittedly much easier, and less rock) i just moved the rock into a rubbermaid tub to get the fish out, and then put the rocks back in the system.

you can keep the fish short term in those small acrylic cages that fish stores use. my lfs loaned me a few cages when i had to do it.

alternatively, toss them in your sump.

Withthe fish live inthere with no live rock ?

At times there is an ass for every seat... but like the others have said already and from my own experiences, here you are best to part it out.

We sold a full set up via CL and it was up for about 6 months before my a$$ came along. We took a huge hit on everything but it gave us a tiny bit of start up for our new venture which brought us here. ~~If I would have found MR first, I would have parted out and probably been ahead of the game... live and learn. Mind you we paid over $15,000 for our set up (livestock, tank and equipment) and let it go for $2000, there is no such thing IMO as breaking even in this hobby. Turning a profit from stuff you already own is laughable (clear that is not your cause), better off playing lotto.

Good luck hopefully you will find someone interested in the whole kit and kaboodle :)
