Got him yesterday, thinking he would be okay with my other clownfish who is around the same size (even the lfs guy told me it was ok). Very stupid of me. While acclimating I could already see them attacking each other through the bag.

The new one is now housed in a plastic container within the main tank. The old still hovers around it.

So have to sell. Price is $25.
Would also consider a trade for a friendly fish of equal value. Tank is small (12g nano).

Located in Murray Hill, NY.

is it the same species? if it is then it should be fine. i had the same problem with the older one attacking the newer one but after a few days, they got along nicely and still do today

Bump! This is back up for sale. The larger of the two has been living in my sump for the past few months. It's doing great, but fish needs to go b/c I might sell the sump at some point (doesn't fit my stand).

What you might want to do is remove the other clownfish from the tank. move around the aquascape, then reintroduce the fish after an hour. This will remove some of his territorial instincts and they should get along after a bit of time.

I had done this with a saddleback and a newly introduced occelaris, and they now get along fine without much aggression. Just small aggression on the sadleback when the other goes into his area of the tank after feeding.
