I have clams and this fish, but it doesnt seem to nip them as far as i have seen. Jim - if have you seen this happen before?

chrysotanea and melenurus are not the same - similar in color and obviously in the same family, but not the same.

To answer your question though, no - never seen it and mostly unlikely
